Our Assisted Living Apartments at Millstream offer a new no-strings-attached way to be supported. Pay-as-you-go and enjoy support with daily meals, cleaning and laundry services, access to a registered nurse as well as social and wellness activities, plus additional medical and personal support options to dial up and down as you require.

Conveniently positioned alongside the prestigious new Lochlea Lifestyle Resort, Radius Millstream enjoys both a quiet, scenic location and close proximity to the amenities and conveniences of Ashburton and the wider area. Opened in June 2016, Radius Millstream combines clinical excellence with state-of-the-art services and facilities.
Radius Millstream has been purpose-built to provide expert nursing, dementia, palliative and respite care on a permanent or short-stay basis. Around-the-clock medical support is delivered with warmth, efficiency and respect by our qualified and experienced registered nurses and staff. Our modern, private rooms are beautifully-decorated and include spacious ensuites. Should residents wish to step out and socialise, there’s a wealth of communal space to choose from, including several lounge areas, a large living room with big-screen TV, a library and an activity room.
We have a full- appointed kitchen onsite, operated by a first-class chef and a professional food service team (including dietician), ensuring all our residents enjoy fresh, great-tasting and nutritious meals. We offer a comprehensive activities programme and a varied social calendar—Pet Day, performances from local schools, and Plunket Mums and Bubs visits are just some of the activities on offer.

Rest Home Care
Our rest homes cater to those who are mostly independent but may require some assistance with personal care and general day-to-day activities.
Hospital Care
Hospital level care is provided for those residents who have a significant disability and medical concerns.
Dementia Care
For residents with dementia we offer specifically targeted services, specialist staff and secure environments to ensure maximum wellbeing and safety at all times.
Respite Care
Short-term stays, or respite care services, are available to those who are unwell (eg, recovering from an illness or hospital stay) or who simply are in need of extra support.
Palliative Care
For those nearing the end of their lives, specialist medical services and clinical staff are available to meet ongoing comfort and care requirements.
Vicki Hyndman
facility manager
Vicki Hyndman‘s nursing career began as a high school student working as a health care assistant in a rest home. She quickly realised her passion was caring for people and went on to complete her registered nursing training. 10 years ago she returned to caring for the elderly before first becoming a hospital manager and then an auditor. However, she missed the sense of belonging to a facility and the daily contact with residents, their families, and staff, and was thrilled to return to residential care as Radius Millstream’s facility manager.
Vicki enjoys both the management aspects of running a facility and the hands-on time with residents and their families. She is passionate about providing excellent care individualised to each resident’s needs, and creating a welcoming friendly environment. For relaxation Vicki enjoys walking, bike rides without a hill in sight, reading and her family.
