Radius Baycare is located in a tranquil, rural park setting at Haruru Falls, just a few minutes’ drive from Paihia in the beautiful Bay of Islands.

At Radius Baycare, rest home, private hospital, palliative, and young disabled care are offered by our caring staff, who provide a lively social atmosphere where family and friends are welcome to visit at any time. Lounges and other communal spaces are designed to create cosy places to relax, socialise, and gather to celebrate achievements and milestones. Bedrooms are light and bright, looking out over the extensive park-like grounds and gardens, and we encourage our residents to personalise their rooms with their favourite possessions—making our home, their home.

Each week our dedicated activities coordinator creates a new roster of fun, stimulating activities, and our team prides themselves on ensuring our residents have every opportunity to continue their individual hobbies and interests. Golf championships, baking, outings, and our annual “Grand Day” when we host residents’ grandchildren, are just a few of the variety of events on offer. Radius Baycare integrates the best of home living and ongoing hospital care, catering for older adults, as well as younger people requiring special care.

Meet our Manager

Debbie Gamble

I am a senior executive leader with thirty years of experience in the health sector. My career began as a Registered Nurse at Whangarei Hospital working in the surgical wards for a number of years before moving on to work in public health, sexual health, child protection, mental health and forensics. I was with Te Whatu Ora for 27 years then joined the Department of Corrections, Ngawha Prison leading a team of health professionals to deliver health care to those in the prison environment.

As a health leader I have led multi-disciplinary teams with a focus on high performance enjoying the diversity that comes from bringing a range of health professionals together from different disciplines with the shared goal of providing a high standard of care that is based on the latest evidence equally balanced with compassion and understanding.

I have managed health projects - redesigning services and developing models of care across Northland impacting and influencing service delivery in close collaboration with community stakeholders and iwi. I am community-focused having held a governance role of Board Director and Deputy Chair for Jigsaw North Manaaki Whanau providing strategic direction and oversight for the organisation for a period of 10 years. I value the relationships/partnerships across Northland that make significant contributions to the health system every day with the intention of improving health outcomes.

You can have reassurance that I act with integrity authenticity, resting on organisational values to drive excellence and performance delivering clinically and culturally safe operational models of service. I lead people calmly with a with a sense of purpose and positivity. I have a proven record for striving for excellence and am excited to now have a renewed commitment of leading and inspiring a team of dedicated professionals to be world class providers in the aged care sector.

I’m a Proud Northlander! with my grandparents and great grandparents farming in the mid North. I’m delighted to have joined Radius Care in the pursuit of delivering – Exceptional Care!
