Radius Matua
124 Levers Road, Matua, Tauranga 3110, New Zealand | 07 576 2802A modern care home offering individualised care designed to foster dignity, independence and connection.
Radius Matua is an aged care home in Tauranga providing 24-hour rest home, hospital and dementia care. We offer all three levels under one roof, which means residents can stay with us as their needs change over time.
What most people worry about isn’t the room. It’s whether they’ll still feel like themselves here. At Matua, families stay close, we’re part of the local community, and our food is made fresh on site every day. That makes a real difference.
Rooms and spaces
Most rooms have their own ensuite, and the majority are single rooms, with a small number of doubles available for couples or those who prefer company. Every room has heating, a telephone outlet, TV point and call button. The lounges open onto central courtyards, and the hospital wing is designed to feel warm and residential rather than clinical.
The Matua Menagerie
One of the hardest things about moving into a care home can be leaving a beloved pet behind, and at Matua, animals are part of everyday life. Jess, our office dog, holds court at reception alongside a fish tank, an aviary, resident cats, and three turtles in their own pond enclosure. The local SPCA also brings dogs through regularly, and it genuinely changes the feel of the place.
Life at Matua
We run a seven-day activity programme, and our park-like gardens and sheltered courtyards give residents, family and friends somewhere comfortable to spend time together. Our New Year’s Eve party has become something of an institution, and between the food, the activities, and staff who tend to stick around, there’s usually something worth showing up for.
Come and see us
The best way to get a feel for Matua is to visit, and we’d love to show you around.
"Pretty quiet, tidy and modernized. Well managed outdoors, convenient indoors. I will be willing to live here after the retirement =) "
"Have friends that live there. Nice unit."
