Keeping The Memories Alive
Treasured objects whether they be photos, letters or drawings are precious to all of us but no more so than to the elderly. As we get older, these important reminders of loved ones and special times keep fond memories alive and give life meaning.
With almost 90 elderly residents, specialist health and aged care provider, Radius Waipuna, was looking for an effective solution to help keep its residents’ precious memories safe.
After a long time in residential care, some of these residents’ treasures were at high risk of getting damaged, lost or fading through sun exposure.
So, when management heard that leading technology equipment and services company, Fujitsu, had the perfect solution with its new, easy to use range of digital scanners, they couldn’t wait to trial them.
The ScanSnap Series iX500 and SV600 are the latest in digital scanning technology. With their ‘One Push Operation’, the ScanSnap technology makes it very easy for elderly people to digitise their memories and safely store them forever without risk of damage or loss. It also enables easy sharing with family.
“As you can imagine, our residents have lots of important physical memories that are extremely important to them, but we can’t always guarantee that these can keep safe in storage or that there is adequate storage for them,” explains Radius Waipuna facility manager, Maria Torres.
“Trialling the Fujitsu ScanSnap Series iX500 and SV600 at our facility was just an awesome opportunity for us all and we were really impressed with how easy and quick the technology is to use.”
